Saw him on Conan the other night with this band...very Jordanesq and having a lot of fun as well. His drum sound was unconventional...refreshing actually.
Just bought Patti Scialfa's '23rd Street Lullaby'. This is a must have for any Steve Jordan fan, he produced the record (w/Patti) and lays down some incredibly tasty/funky grooves on this terrific CD.

I think Steve Jordan is a great role model and inspiration. He's definitely not "just a drummer", also a good guitar and bass player, ......producer, arranger And Drummer!

Steve has always been such a
great groover. I remember him
from the days I would see and
talk to Gadd. He was 'so-Gadd'
back then but we were all try-
ing to be. He made Gadd his
own and now, look at him!
Jordan is one of the 'other

Oh man, was there ever any question that jordan could groove? I haven't heard a hell of a lot of his playing, but his playing on the brecker bros 'detente' is awesome, with an interesting left hand snare 1/16th note ghosting thing he does on some tracks. I never get bored of that album. And I had a video with james taylor live at the beacon in new york, ( unfotunately, I lent it out and haven't got it back yet), and jordan plays beautifully on it. Fabulous player. Maybe underrated? You certainly don't hear his name as much as some others, but he deserves be more of a household name.

I'm crazy about Steve, no doubt about his groove and his huge talent for the music as bass & guitar player, producer, arranger, and drummer of course...
You can see him with James Taylor, "live At The Beacon Theatre", Jimmy Johnson (he's awesome like always !!!) on bass, Luis cont? on percussion... It's just magnificent !!!
And with Keith Richard And The Expensive Winos "Live At The Hollywood Palladium".
Steve starts the show playing bass, the great Charley Drayton playing drums and they switch !!!
You can find this dvd pretty easy everywhere so check it out !!!
And I hope that you Guys know David Sanborn's "Upfront", Steve's sound and drumming are so good, that makes me cry !!!
